Lady Lake

Lady Lake is primarily a retirement community. There are seven golf courses within a five-mile radius of the town. The area has experienced very rapid growth over the past several years. Lady Lake's excellent qualities for residential, commercial and industrial development are surpassed only by its beauty and comfortable lifestyle. Lady Lake offers country living, scenic beauty, great fishing, golf and other recreational opportunities, shopping and dining out, all of which combine to ensure a quality lifestyle.

From 1990 through 1994, the town of Lady Lake was the eighth fastest growing municipality in Florida. As reported by the University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research Department, the population increased from 8,071 to 11,557.

Annual temperatures are in the low to middle 70s in the Lady Lake and Lake County areas. Summertime temperatures are about 82 degrees. July and August are the warmest months when temperatures often reach the mid-90s. Winter temperatures sometimes fall below 40 degrees. However, even in January and February, the temperature seldom falls below 50 degrees.

Lady Lake enjoys abundant rainfall during the so-called rainy season. Average annual rainfall is about 47.6 inches and more than half that rain falls during the period from June through September. Most of summer rainfall comes from local showers that occur in mid-afternoon. The remainder of the year is relatively dry. From October to May, the area is indeed the "Sunshine State."

Although Florida is known for its hurricanes, the inland area of Central Florida has seldom been affected by such storms. Lady Lake weather is one of the prime reasons for its attractiveness to visitors and newcomers alike.
